Four incredible offices from around the world

When many of us picture an office, we think of a dull, grey space with neatly divided cubicles and not much else. However, in a lot of cases, this view is rather outdated, and many modern offices are taking valuable steps to ensure their workplace is aesthetically pleasing, as well as being a stimulating and vibrant work environment.

There are many different ways to enhance your office space, from an eye-catching living wall to recreational equipment like a ping-pong table, but there are some offices around the world who have really gone the extra mile. If you’re thinking it’s about time your office had a makeover, read on for some inspirational ideas from four of our favourite offices around the world.

Inventionland Design Factory – Pennsylvania, USA

This Peter Pan-themed space is less of an office and more of a mini theme park, with features including castles, pirate ships, ball pits and even three waterfalls built into the walls. Built in 2006, this multi-award-winning space costs a cool $5 million and is split into no less than 16 different ‘sets’.

    SelgasCano – Madrid, Spain

You’d expect an architecture firm to have headquarters that reflect their expertise, and the offices of Spanish consultancy SelgasCano are no exception. Set in the middle of a forest, this office is both stunning to look at and environmentally efficient. The building is designed in the shape of an aerodynamic tube and is half-submerged into the ground, giving an eye-level view of the forest surroundings.

    Google – Zurich, Switzerland

Google is famous for its incredibly designed offices, and its Zurich branch certainly lives up to the hype. Opened in 2008 and home to around 2,000 employees, this workplace includes many perks, including free massages, concert rooms, gyms, wine cellars and an on-site bar.  There’s also a James Bond room (complete with secret door), a slide between floors and a western lounge furnished in the style of an old saloon.

    Money.co.uk – Cirencester, UK

Located in the Gloucestershire countryside, the home of this online startup includes a Star Wars-themed cinema, Rolling Stones-inspired toilets and several gaming rooms. The offices were designed by TV personality Laurence Llewellyn-Bowen and workers also enjoy free food, a multipurpose gym and an all-expenses-paid trip abroad every year.
