Precision FM Nominated for Three Local Business Awards
Precision FM has been named as a finalist in three categories at the East Midlands Chamber of Commerce Business Awards 2021.
The business has been shortlisted in the Small Business of the Year, Commitment to People Development and Entrepreneur of the Year categories, with the results to be announced at a gala dinner taking place at Leicester Tigers Rugby Club on Friday 3 December 2021.
Commenting on the award nominations, Brij Thankey, CEO at Precision FM said: “We are very proud to have been nominated in three categories that mean so much to us. When we founded the company in 2012 with just two members of staff and a small number of customers, we wanted to offer something different to the traditional FM businesses. To do this, we knew exceptional customer service delivered by committed staff would be the roadmap to this approach.
“To be recognised for our hard work especially in the area of staff development is a fantastic achievement as while it’s great to be recognised for entrepreneurship, it’s really translating that vision into action that is crucial for ongoing success.”
Precision FM has enjoyed a strong period of growth, now employing 40 members of staff the company is committed to its future success by reinvesting its profits back into the business with a particular focus on staff wellbeing and development.
As Brij explains: “We have all experienced just how challenging the past 18 months have been and as a senior management team we understood how important it was to ensure that the wellbeing of our staff remained a priority.
“With that in mind in September last year we permanently increased all employees’ holiday allowance by seven days and were fortunate enough to be able to incentivise the team financially plus we have created a share option scheme that our staff can take advantage of. This is summed up by our company ethos of ‘Nourishing Our Roots’ whereby we form a culture where both our team and in turn, our clients can thrive.”
As CEO, Brij is committed to giving back to the local community and in August 2020 created the Precision FM Foundation through which the company donates a percentage of its profits to a variety of charities nominated by employees and recipients have included Soft Touch Charity, Headstrong, Save the Rhino International and Loughborough based Rainbows Children’s Hospice. Earlier this year, the company also became a Community Partner of Leicester City Football Club.
The East Midlands Chamber of Commerce Business Awards are split into three events for each county (Derbyshire, Leicestershire and Nottinghamshire), and feature 13 categories. Each category is intended to celebrate success achieved during what has been a difficult period for many businesses.
